JLYNCH is an Art Drawer and Art Director. She was told once it wasn’t “that deep”, she replied: “Good thing I brought a shovel.”

pre-k: the dinner

001

Art Director/Scenography_Designed a dinning experience to launch the Forum Montreal design conference.

Inspired by childhood whimsy and the designer’s brain, I used crayons and bright colours to illustrate, design, and put together the dinner for the speakers and people behind this year’s Forum design conference.

LABYRINTHE

002

Art Director_Designed a visual identity and strategically support Le Livart, resulting in a series of evocative posters and a meticulously crafted invitation.

In November 2023, Le Livart, a non-profit organization with the mission of democratizing access to art and culture, orchestrated its annual benefit exhibition titled "Labyrinthe." This immersive event spanned three days, inviting participants to embark on a journey through the many rooms of the venue, revealing fascinating installations and luminous landscapes designed by the talented artist Fanny-Jane. Centered around the themes of carefree exploration and reflection, our approach aimed to channel the artist's characteristic use of neon hues and reflective surfaces, intertwined with labyrinth elements to evoke the venue's labyrinthine layout.

THE OPEN HOUSE
Conference

003

Layout/Social Media/Event Design_Worked alongside a Creative Director to help create visuals for a conference held by The Study.

Bringing together experts from various sectors and opinion leaders, this conference offered a variety of workshops and interactive sessions in fields such as technology, sports, business, and creativity. The design direction for this project was to use classic academic materials to highlight the importance of accessible learning, something The Open House aimed to do.

CYSTOPLUS
CAMPAIGNS

004

Social Media_Created educational and relatable visuals for a pharmaceutical company with the goal in creating brand awareness and standing out amongst their competitors while also empowering its users.

Cystoplus, an over-the-counter medicinal powder designed to relieve the burning sensation of urinary infections, sought to address the challenge of making cystitis more accessible and understandable to the general public. Our objective was to reposition the product within the wellness domain by capitalizing on the rising popularity of this trend.

DETENTION

005

Creative Direction_Directed a photoshoot to be used as promotional material for an internship program called ‘DETENTION’.

DETENTION is an internship program offered by The Study — a creative agency — which aims to select the latest up and coming creatives in Montreal and guide them through their early moves in the industry.  The goal of this shoot was to create visuals that captured the self-starter audience for the program through the trope of the cool girls who are go-getters in school.

IKEA 2047

006

Art Direction + Industrial Design_Manufactured my own chair & created a world in which it would exist.

The goal of the project is to bring awareness to our posture and 'tech neck' by allowing people to not only see their bad posture through a chair design but also to experience the data. I designed and made a chair that does just that. The back is slanted to imitate the way that we typically sit — which is when we are straining our neck around 30-45 degrees.

ARTCH FESTIVAL

007

Graphic Design_Created a new visual identity for a festival of emerging Montreal artists.

In January of 2022 I received the Elspeth McConnell Fine Arts Award and had the chance to work under Art Director Tam Vu in creating the visual identity for the Artch 2022 festival. I learned so much from his design approach and techniques as well as gained experience working on a project for an art-focused event.

HOLIDAY BOX

008

Packaging Design_Created a complete gift box, containing stickers, postcards, and local self-care products.

In December, The Study Agency wanted to send out a Thank You gift box to clients and friends of the company. The theme was self-care and relaxation, so I selected products like handmade soaps, candles, and incense, as well as a few light-hearted stickers and postcards to add a little fun and holiday cheer!

THE CHEATSHEET

009

Art Direction_Created the aesthetic direction for a concept shoot following two students ditching class together.

I flew to Paris, France to work alongside a talented team of designers, stylists, models, photographers, and videographers to create content to be used by The Study, a creative agency. We shot around the 5th arrondissement, and mainly near the Sorbonne University. I participated in the designing of the shirt, imagining the vision, and executing the shoot.

CYANOTYPE ZINE

010

Printing Technique_Explored a larger form of storytelling using the ancient sun printing technique known as Cyanotype.

Titled Can We Get Closer, this zine offers a vulnerable view on my experiences with intimacy and the many levels of being close to someone you care deeply for. The choice to use cyanotype as a medium was made due to its deeply intimate and tedious process, something I felt linked to the topic at hand.

SCARFACE:
THE MOVIE NIGHT

011

Screening the classic Scarface, the event included a DJ set, snacks, drinks, and gift bags featuring a specially designed t-shirt souvenir.

Creative Direction/Event Design_Developed a visual identity for a movie night held at Le Livart.

The Study

012

Art Direction_Rebranding the creative marketing studio to properly showcase all that they stand for.

Since The Study is a data-driven studio with the goal of helping brands, creatives and athletes grow and engage with their audience, it was integral to lean into the academic route and showcase it through a pop culture lens.

Cfba

013

Art Direction_Rebranding Concordia’s Fashion Business Association + art directing events.

As the Art Director of the association, I got to redo the logo, the general branding, and create various world’s for the events and photoshoots the club had.
